I decided to write a bash script to make it look like I was, in fact, trying to get a life. However, admitting that I wrote a bash script for said purpose kind of indicates that I am not looking to get a life any time soon. ;)
Awww, but I like apt-get. It gotten me through multiple custom xorg configuration disasters.
Also, I’ve felt lately that getting a life is not supposed to be user friendly… it requires a lot more ./config paramaters and other custom build options more than anything. Personally I’ve ended up forking the source anyhow. I wouldn’t trust my life to any package manager, Super Cow Powers or not.
Anyway, just wanted to mention that a bunch of us Math undergrads here at CIMS @ NYU are fans of your comic. Keep it up! Mucho mathlove. ^_^
@Oliver: Great points regarding apt-get. I can barely compile a wireless driver. As for getting a life… Conjecture: if you jet-set enough around the international dateline, it’s possible to be in two places at once at the same time, effectively getting yourself a second life (brief as it may be). It’s a conjecture I’d like to test when I’m a rich and famous mathematician someday…
Glad to know that I have fans whom I don’t actually know! (Although I assume my sister Brittney, who is frequently in classes at CIMS for her math minor, is also a fan. I mean, she has to be, right? ;) )
Were you actually trying to install a package called life?
That is, the game of life.

That’s because you’re using apt-get. aptitude is much more friendly. Even though it won’t give you a life, it _will_ suggest alternatives :)
