Happy Birthday, Mom!
A special Happy Birthday to my mom, who diligently reads Brown Sharpie every MWF even though she claims she doesn’t understand it.

The QED heart is my favorite thing ever. Add it to my wishlist of TeX symbols.
Neat…
usually is a (mod b) where a is smaller than b, that would be even better…
@Mgccl :I know what it usually is. But the point is that she’s congruent to 21, which is much more fun than 1 (no booze at 1)! Plus, with the mod 10, I’m not giving away her real age. Anyhow, with equivalence classes, any representative works. ;)
@stolee: On the list. What was the first request? I already forgot.
I do enjoy! and, without meaning to point at Mgccl, I wish people were more comfortable about using alternative representatives.
Thank you! I finally made it to Brown Sharpie!! Love you!!!
@courtney: ahh… but it shows her age should be either 41, 51 or 61
but I see the point :)
fail…
21 mod 10=1 or 21%10=1 or 21/10=2=>R1***
@C: any coset member can act as the representative. That’s why there’s the three bar “equivalent” notation instead of the two bar “equal” notation.
I.e., the fail is on you, my friend, for not understanding modular arithmetic. Go read your notes again before you make me pissy on a Monday morning. :)
Oh snap! Sometimes the comments are the best part.
Suppose she could be 31, but that might be creepy unless CG is some kind of Smart Guy ripoff.
You could have also used mod 2, mod3, or mod 4 (depending on her actual age) in order to create even more possibilities for her real age. ;-)
If 21 is a hint at the real age, then i guess her moms age is 51. Since both are divisible by 3.
